The idea has come up before that there should be more organized wikipedia antipornstitution linkage, and since it has been raised again I'm fishing for potential volunteers and assorted basic information.

I think Hallucigenia does, or did, although she's an infrequent poster here.

All in all, wikipedia is a losing battle. I mean, you're dealing with men who have the time to write 15K word essays on cartoon characters. They'll always be able to re-edit your edits to their own ways of thinking.

What Rich said about it being "a losing battle".
The amount of time and energy wasted on such a task would be disproportionate to its (very little) potential efficiency. As you know, Big Daddy Wales, aka Jimbo The Pimp, a pornographer, is the ultimate authority on "editing" and "administrating" there. He has already been caught falsifying the history of the Wikimedia Foundation and downplaying the "hardcore-ness" of Bomis, the company that first funded and technically supported the Wikipedia project. Porn buffs like Peter G. "Iamcuriousblue" Werner are at home there.

"Neutral Point Of View" is to Wikipedia what "civil discourse" is to Alas, a blog. Maybe the solution would be to create an independant wiki site (hosted as far as possible from Wikimedia and Wikia). This has been suggested by Twisty and others. It would still require heavy moderation, though (whitey is not anti-porn), as well as clearly defined goals (no claim to "universality" or being "global", etc.). Maybe a "wikification" of the Genderberg FAQ could be a starting point?

(I should note that I have never edited, or posted on, Wikipedia, neither have I, a fortiori, an user account there.)
