Art and Writing by Rachel Indigo Cerise Baum

Postby ricerisebaum » Wed Aug 16, 2006 9:10 pm

Hi Everyone,
I joined awhile ago, was updating my live journal and re read one of Sam's reviews of my writing in Portland Alliance. The article is posted on my site.

I'm an artist and writer who has a few things to say about self defense, the sex industry, surviving and thriving.

"Art of Surviving," an art exhibit about surviving domestic violence and sexual assault, is happening at the Portland YWCA .......soon. I'll be showing gritty, fresh and edgy work you will want to see and hear.

in solidarity,
ricb

Thanks for dropping your links in. I'd like to see and hear your work, but I won't make Portland. I'll look for you here.

What a nice surprise seeing you write here this morning, ricerisebaum.

When you learn the dates on the exhibit please let us know. It sounds like something I wouldn't want to miss.

Pony and Sam,
good to hear from you, and glad to be here. Genderberg feels like an oasis and reading several posts here, its the first time in a long time there's been a place and people who aren't playing "porn neutral," and yes, one of the tactics used by folks advocating pornstitution is to proclaim that being antiporn is "uncool" (this isn't said directly, but seems to be what some folks who call themselves liberal, will insinuate.
I had to let go of my propensity to want to be approved of, and the conditioning and grooming done by pornsters. A friend of mine said, "it really isnt about whose cool, it's about whose left."
Porn kills, and thats facts, and there's not one friggin thing that's cool about that.
