PhotoZoo magazine has axed its celebrity columnist Danny Dyer after he advised a heartbroken reader to “cut his ex’s face, so no one will want her’.
The ‘Football Factory’ star sparked outrage with his latest column, with a production error being blamed for his remarks being published.

Asked how to get over a split from a girlfriend, he is quoted as saying, “You've got nothing to worry about, son. I'd suggest going out on a rampage with the boys, getting on the booze and smashing anything that moves. Then, when some bird falls for you, you can turn the tables and break her heart. Of course, the other option is to cut your ex's face, and then no one will want her."
Dyer, who dictated his column over the phone to a journalist on the magazine, insists he was misquoted and is “totally devastated” over the comments.
A spokeswoman for the successful weekly magazine said, “As an immediate result of an ongoing internal inquiry following an indefensible comment published in this week's issue, Zoo has decided to bring the Danny Dyer column to an end.”
Zoo magazine has made a “substantial” donation to Women’s Aid, and will use the space normally reserved for Dyer’s column next week to drive “awareness to the issue of violence against women".
