It would be cool if Hillary won, but if this election starts going to Puerto Rico to seek votes, I'll be unhappy with that. Puerto Rico is under illegal occuptation-- it's not property of the U.S. even though the U.S. government and Puerto Rico's puppet government is making it seem like a wannabe-state. I think most Puerto Ricans have been brainwashed into thinking they want statehood. There is an independence movement in Puerto Rico but it seems smaller than pro-state people... my dad's part of the independence movement and obviously I agree with him. The U.S. government at one point didn't allow children in Puerto Rico to speak spanish, so they started failing their classes because they didn't understand english. Puerto Rico was even spelled "Porto Rico" by some people so the name was easier to pronouce for english-speaking people.
My dad doesn't like Hillary Clinton primarily because she didn't support the release of Puerto Rican political prisoners from the U.S. (and the war on Iraq vote). I still voted for Hillary and I want her to win, but I wish the elections wouldn't go to Puerto Rico, because it just doesn't belong there!
And yes, I'm aware of the men who sexually assaulted the women in Central Park on the day of the Puerto Rican day parade... #1 male violence against women is unacceptable. #2 It's too fucking bad that plenty of people think Puerto Rico and bam they think of sexual violence. I thought Dreamworlds 3 was a powerful tool for showing porn culture in music videos, but when it shows the sexual assaults that happened in Central Park that day, I get sad (for what happened to the women), but also because I'm Puerto Rican and what the men did makes Puerto Rico look like shit.
