Today I stopped by Atlantic City News, a newstand at 175 Second Ave zip 10009 NYC. It's in the East Village
I had in the past asked them them to stop selling pornography. This time I went to the back area to check and to my delight the porn area had *all bare shelves* , nothing on them!
I asked the guy at the cash register "What happened to the porn"? and he said, "no more, we removed it, too many people complained".
Not kidding.. I thought I was dreaming.
Please write this company thanking them for removing the porn from their store.This is the first time I have ever seen this.

I'm not a real big believer in rewarding businesses with praise and applause for not selling women's bodies, but it is good of them to have stopped doing so.

I was just thinking, here in NYC most commercial leases have clauses against selling porn. Unless the newstands get the owners to strike out those clauses in the lease, the clause is there and enforceable.
I would suspect that other states have similar clauses on their commercial leases. specifically in apartment houses that have stores at ground level. It would be simpler to ask the landlords to enforce those clauses, than to wait for the good concience of the newstand owners to kick in.
