So I'm in this store in Woodstock and I ask the woman what music is playing because I love it. It's a cd by the new group The Bastard Fairies. I look them up online and find that they are avid supporters of Playboy. Check this out...they feel that if more women fucked guys, the world would be a more peaceful place. First of all, I thought the problem was men fucking women and children without their consent that was disrupting the peace and second of all, I'm thinking if more women fucked women it might be more peaceful...maybe it's a bit essentialist but still! Oh and last but not least, one of their songs is "Ode to prostitutes"..perhaps it would be a better ode if they didn't promote their job as a peace resolution as I'm positive that prostitutes experience anything but. C  heck out the spread...it's so liberating!

The name of their band alone makes it clear to me that they're misogynists. I mean, what is a bastard? It's the child of a woman who had sex out of wedlock, the child of a whore. Yeah, they'd like for more women to have more sex with more men so that they can then turn around and call them whores by calling their sons "bastards." The same damned thing that the religious fundies do and we know how much they value women.

Music today is such garbage. It's almost as bad as the movies (different side, same coin?).

To some, she would come across as confident, but that is hardcore insecurity right there.

This article exemplifies the predominant line of thinking these days though: that pent up sexual energy, or a male's frustration at not being able to have sex on demand has extremely disastrous consequences. I'd laugh if that weren't so widely considered to be a fact.

Jackie, don't post complete links... break em up, or else the makers of those websites can trace back to genderberg. For instance, type "http:// SPACE therestofthewebaddress SPACE .com".

Too bad the music probably sounds good... when I see these pictures my self-esteem shoots to zero. Kind of annoys me how she's calling other people racist... isn't it racist to play up a stereotype about sexualized "Indian princesses"? :sad8: Yes, she's right that it was racist of the people to force her to change her name, but it's also racist to use one's heritage as a marketing tool through Pl-yb-y. I recently purchased Andrea Smith's Conquest, a book about sexual violence against Native American women... This musician's collaboration w/ Pl-yb-y ain't helping the situation.
