Condoleezza Rice Rape Joke

Postby KatetheGreat » Mon May 14, 2007 2:42 pm

I'm sure most of you have heard of this by now. If you haven't heard an actual soundfile of the joke on Opie and Anthony, look it up. It's horrible, and I'm fairly sure most people didn't actually hear it and the kind of gratification these guys got laughing over how scared her face would look as she was being raped.

Not suprisingly, most news programs are of the opinion that "words don't hurt - if you don't like it, change the channel!", along with the standard claims of Orwellian doom that will befall us all if we draw the line on rape jokes.

http://www. usmagazine .com/ opie_anthony

just an example of the chatter. There are numerous credible news programs discussing this. I'd like to say I'm suprised by the reactions but I'm not, even though it deeply saddens me each time.

This is one case where I would not mind if Condeleeza
Rice would have them 'Extraordinarily rendered' to a facility in Tajikistan.

(please..)

I saw some youtube video about Ms Rice a while back, some 'parody' of a rap song with her singing. Some commenter said they were glad this was a way to make fun of her without bringing her race into it.

Now, I question whether having her sing a rap song 'doesn't bring race into it' but if it didn't, the parody was still sexist, and homophobic (There was a bit where they made a joke about her having Mary Cheney as a lover, and another bit where it said she loved her shoes, and named every single one.)

That woman has had a lot of shit said about her, which she doesn't deserve. Makes me think about what Amananta says here: http://amananta.wordpress.com/2006/04/0 ... n-coulter/

This is what Opie, Dopey, and Co were laughing, joking about about this morning. She's dead and they still made fun of her:

They're on my list of worst, most pathetic people in the world. I want to send them an email, because I'm frustrated, but sometimes I don't see the point in communicating with people like this.

More than 400.
"The assumption that "most women are innately heterosexual'' stands as a theoretical and political stumbling block for many women. It remains a tenable assumption, partly because lesbian existence has been written out of history or catalogued under disease;. . . partly because to acknowledge that for women heterosexuality may not be a "preference" at all but something that has had to be imposed, managed, organized, propagandized and maintained by force is an immense step to take if you consider yourself freely and "innately" heterosexual. Yet the failure to examine heterosexuality as an institution is like failing to admit that the economic system called capitalism or the caste system of racism is maintained by a variety of forces, including both physical violence and false consciousness. . ."
