ATLANTIC CITY — Three out-of-state men face numerous charges after a woman flagged down two police officers and told them she and a friend had been sexually assaulted and held captive in a motel room, police said Friday.

Officers Michael LoSasso and Frank Lane were arresting a man on an outstanding warrant at 4:03 a.m. Tuesday when they heard a woman across the street scream for help, police said. They placed the man in their patrol car and went to assist the woman, who was partially dressed and shoeless.

The woman screamed that she had been raped and that she and a girlfriend were being held against their will in a room at the Flamingo Motel at Chelsea and Pacific avenues.

The officers called for backup and followed the woman to a room at the motel, where, she said, her attackers were. LoSasso, Officer James Andros and Officer Brent Dooley saw a man leave the room and run. After a chase and fight, the officers arrested Alonzo Butts, 25, of Allentown, Pa.

As the officers were placing Butts into the patrol car, they noticed another man leave the room and flee when they ordered him to stop, police said. Dooley and Officer Paul Petinga gave chase, and after a brief struggle, arrested Darren Bostick, 20, of Brooklyn, N.Y., police said.

The victims identified a third man allegedly involved in the assault. Jamal Mobley, 23, also of Brooklyn, was arrested after he was found hiding behind a vehicle parked in the motel lot, police said.

The two women told police that the men wanted them to work as prostitutes and that they would be their “pimps" police said. The women refused and the men sexually assaulted them, police said.

Police said they confiscated more than $25,000 in cash from the three men. The victims, Berlin residents whose names were not released, were treated at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center and released.

Mobley and Bostick were charged with aggravated sexual assault, promoting prostitution, robbery and conspiracy.

Butts was charged with promoting prostitution, criminal restraint and obstruction of the administration of law. He was wanted on other charges from New York City and was being held without bail, police said.
