former member of the Desoto parish police jury has pleaded guilty to trying to hire a hooker.
55-year-old Charles Burford's plea follows a guilty plea last spring to filing a false police report.
Burford has now admitted he tried to commit suicide with a handgun after his arrest in a prostitution sting. Then when that failed, he concocted a story about being shot by a robber.
