My fiancee has said the same things as Army of Me's boyfriend. "Why do you spend so much time reading about things that upset you? Why do you look for this horrible shit? You can't fix everything."
If nobody were looking for all this horrible shit that exists out there and if we (rad fems & pro-human rights activists) weren't here to read about or see things that upset us, then there would be no way of making any change in this fucking world, which would then lead to a world totally devoid of empathy with no hope for activism toward a fair change due to the fact that there would be no genuinely kind and considerate people out there left, and no one would get no chance to fix anything at all and so feminism + human rights to justice + the human race would all be fucked!!!
