There's nothing special about this case, and that's why I'm posting it.
I've heard the excuse "Street prostitution is TOTALLY separate from indoor prostitution so sex workers absolutely CANNOT be compared to each other" more times from john-cocksuckers than I care to recount. I thought I'd post this as an example of what everyone who researches prostitution knows, that the lines between kinds of prostitution are very fluid and almost all prostituted women are prostituted from various sex biz venues during their time in prostitution. I've rarely come across a prostitute who/who's pimp stuck to only one way of finding tricks. -sam

Guilty Verdict In Prostitution Case
POSTED: 1:17 pm MST February 14, 2008
PHOENIX -- A 34-year-old Laveen man has been convicted on 30 counts related to his role in a child prostitution ring that involved at least five young girls, some younger than 15 years old.
Mark Anthony Howard was found guilty on Tuesday, Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas said.
Howard was indicted on May 3 on multiple charges of child prostitution, sexual abuse, pandering and sexual conduct with a minor.
The offenses occurred between December 2001 and April 2006.
Howard had the victims work the streets, turn tricks out of local strip clubs and provide escort services through ads posted in a local newspaper, Thomas said.
Thomas said Howard used profits from the exploitation to purchase a $500,000 home in Laveen and multiple high-priced vehicles.
Howard used the street name Laylow and tattooed four of the five girls with his name, Thomas said.
"I am grateful for the jury's findings of guilty in this case, as they will serve to remove this defendant from decent society," said Thomas.
Howard will be sentenced on March 14.
