In making his case for why chain Starz Cabaret should be welcome into Tualatin, multi-millionaire owner Randy Kaiser implored the city council to let his strip club open so he, "can provide employment to mothers with children"; is there some other kind of mother?
Hearing citizens "Pshaw!" before the clip ended was my breakfast. The Tualatin city council was unmoved by his chivalrous concern for mother's rights.

TUALATIN, Ore. -- It was another set back for a strip club that hoped to open it's doors in Tualatin soon.

The city council voted unanimously Monday night to recommend the Oregon Liquor Control Commission deny the owner of Stars Cabaret a liquor license for a new club in Tualatin, across from Bridgeport Village.
Residents and nearby business owners packed Tualatin City Hall Monday night. Dozens testified against granting the liquor license.
They argued the proposed nude dancing would hurt businesses and strain local police.
"We do anywhere from 500 to a thousand people a day in our restaurant and I have never ran into one person who is in favor of this business coming next door," one business owner testified.
But Randy Kaiser, owner of Star's Cabaret, also testified and said the city violated his civil rights.
"All we wanted was for Tualatin to treat us fairly and the city didn't," said Kaiser.
The owner said he was not done fighting. He planned to submit 1,000 letters of support for the club to the liquor commission.
The liquor commission will have the final say. The state was expected to decide on the license by mid-December.
