'...in a premeditated, organized attack."

More young kids. VERY disturbing.

AUSTIN: Two boys aged 11 and 14 have been charged with breaking into a 60-year-old woman's home and trying to rape her in what police said was an apparently premeditated and cold-blooded attack.

The boys wore bandanas and gloves and carried a "rape kit" that included items to restrain the victim when they broke through a window of the woman's home in Austin in July, Det. Scott Stanfield said Monday.

They tied her to the bed and one of the boys tried to rape the woman but stopped when her heart device was triggered, police told the Austin American-Statesman. The boys were charged with burglary with intent to commit sexual assault.

Some of the suspects whom police interviewed were able to "lie without emotion," Stanfied said.

A 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were standing outside the victim's house serving as lookouts, Stanfield said, but they have not been charged because they did not break into the house.

The whole "rape kit" bothers me on several levels. These kids were very methodical and had this thing planned in detail. Aside from the sheer callousness, that's what the kit to collect evidence of a rape is called.

This whole child rapist trend is seriously f*cked.

this is so fucked up. Maybe some non-feminist folks will notice the pattern??? Do these famous feminist organizations know about these child-aged rapists?

Yeah, noone ever seems to ask why people might behave the way they do in our society, if someone commits a crime it's simply because they're a bad person and nothing else. But obviously 11 year olds do not just suddenly wake up and decide they want to become a rapist, that's behaviour they learn from somewhere and if it's not porn then I don't know what else it could possibly be.

I agree (despite the fact that I said "bad kids" above). I don't believe in any bullshit theory on "biological behavior". However, they could have learned that kind of behavior from masculine role socialization, if not from porn. They could also have learned it from masculine role socialization + pornography.

"masculine role socialization" while not a good thing, is not sufficient to account for this. I don't doubt that the porn these kids' immediate elders are looking at "everyday" holds the key here. If not "porn" per se, other pornified violent media.

sorry to sound cold-blooded, but i believe we're going to be seeing a whole lot of these stories. maybe we should start collecting them in one thread for future reference.

and yes, i can only think of two things that would predispose a sixth-grader to become a rapist: violent media and/or previous sexual abuse.

That's why I said "They could also have learned it from masculine role socialization + pornography."
